Hello, friends!  It’s been a little while since I’ve done a random coffee talk style post, so that’s exactly what I’m going to do right now…. so, grab your cup of joe, tea, or bone broth & let’s sit & have a little chat to catch up on things.

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…

you probably know I’m a huge coffee lover, but I’m trying to dive more into the tea world.  There’s an awesome company called YourTea & they make several types of fun & healthy sounding teas – there are so many I hope to try!  Lately, I’ve been having a bit of trouble turning my brain off at night & falling asleep… too much on my mind.  So… I am trying out some of the YourTea Sleep Tea, which is supposed to help you relax & drift off to sleepy town.  I was SO excited when it arrived at my door yesterday – it smelled AMAZING!!

I have to say, I really love their branding & was intrigued by their packaging… so trendy & fun!!  Did I mention is smelled SO good?!  Just making sure. 😉  Oh, & the Sleep Tea I chose is gluten free too!!  Pretty neat.  Brian & I both had a cup last night before bed & I think it tasted great, plus I’m feeling like I slept great.  Excited to have some again tonight. As for Brian, he really enjoyed the taste, but he can’t judge the sleep thing since he’s sick at the moment.  He did say it was soothing on his throat though.  Loving YourTea Sleep Tea so far & I’ll be sure to report back on it! #YourTea #SleepTea

it’s slowly starting to look like Spring around these parts, although it HARDLY feels like it these last few days.  It’s been SO cold & windy!!  Lots of rain in the forecast too… but, it’s nice to see these fellas back picking through the grass on campus. :)

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…

that it is almost THE DAY – and by that, I mean it’s almost MATCH DAY!!!  This is the day (Sunday, April 12th) that all of us senior Dietetic students who have applied to internships login to the computer match system & will either see “match”, or “no match”.  Scary stuff!!  I’m so ready for this process to have a resolution & to know whether I’m going to make it to being an RD soon, or if I’ll have to start this process all over again in another year or so.  For those of you unsure how it works to become an RD, you have to complete your Bachelor of Science degree & follow that up with a 7-12 month long dietetic internship program… which YOU pay for, & you do not get any sort of income or pay for that time.  It’s 40+ hours a week & you also have homework/casework studies & projects to do at night.  THEN, when that is all over – we are eligible to sit for the Registered Dietitian national exam.  And if you didn’t get all of that ramble I just spit out, well… the point of this is that a major decision in my future will be made for me on this coming Sunday – whether I match to an internship program or not.  I’ve applied to three, & two of those three have expressed an interest in me.  The third doesn’t do interviews or anything, so not unusual to not hear from them.  I’m hoping for a good outcome… feeling like I may get my first choice, but we shall see… I’ll just be lucky to get any. 😉

i’ve been messing around with more natural skincare stuff.  I found a great coconut sugar scrub that was shared by Jess Paige LCHF on her Facebook page – this recipe.  I tried it out on my face, which was a BIG mistake for me.  I’ve found that coconut oil tends to be too heavy for my facial skin & makes me break out, which is exactly what this scrub did.  However, it is really awesome & I do use it in the shower not the rest of my body – it’s awesome!  I also re-stocked my jar of coconut oil in the bathroom – I have several jars of the stuff in our apartment: bathroom (moisturizing), closet (oil pulling), & kitchen (cooking).

I’m anxiously awaiting more mild Spring weather… love this picture from one of our walks!  Mya loves sniffing around by the water & near the old marina.  Peaceful & pretty!  IMG_0481

If we were having coffee I’d tell you…

I’m kind of addicted to watching The Mindy Project lately… I know, I’m late to the game, but it’s pretty funny & perfect for watching while I do my circuit workouts.  Any other fans out there?

Ok, your turn!!  If we were having coffee or tea, what would YOU tell me?!
